A question from the UCBV forum:
What is the target audience for the reunion this year? i.e. which classes of alumni are you trying to invite/recruit to the reunion? The name call “..25 years..” makes some younger alumni feels they are excluded and they have asked me about it. I don’t know the answer for them because according to the party last year, it seemed the main focus was for the very early classes of alumni. Can you please clarify.
Ban Mua Việc’s response:
Thank you for bringing up an important topic that Ban To^? Chu*’c has discussed at length. We welcome all classes that have attended UC Berkeley to come and join us. However, in order to create a fun and memorable experience based on our limited expertise and resource, activitities and contents of this reunion are focusing on classes spanning from late 70s to mid-1980s. The term “25 years” is loosely defined (*). But again, members of all classes are welcome to attend.
(*) Background: Our Engineering Department actually did a complex mathematical modeling of the spanning of years accounting for different classes from the 70s to 80s + other variations of different members. By applying Fast Fourier Transform, and taking FIR Filter, we came up with “29 1/2″. However, “29 1/2 years Reunion” did not pass our Marketing Department. Thus our Engineering Department had to go back and designed a simpler mathematical modeling and came up with “25 years”.
