“Reunited and it feels so good, Reunited ’cause we understood …”

Yes that song by Peaches & Herb sounds cheesy, but it does bring back a strong memory. Who among us could survive Berkeley without being involved in the Vietnamese Student Association? Who could handle the gruesome academic stress without being soothed by the harmonious trio Hùng Hawaii Li Ti, or the charming voice of Thăng Củ in “Đường Xa Ướt Mưa”, or our home grown AVT group by Hòa Vui, Đảm and Hawaii, or Tùng Đười Ươi’s wholesome laugh? Which one of us could focus on studying without committing the sin of “mua bán việc” during the finals week, doing văn nghệ, nối vòng tay, kỷ yếu, thể thao, cắm trại, etc.?

The VSA experience 25 years ago played a big part in forming our common identity, our understanding. 25 years have passed. It’s time to come together again, to retell the time period when our eyes were wide open, and our heads full of “black” hair, and our hormone wild. It’s time to visit each other again, to compare bifocal lenses, exchange Rogaine tips, and … well, forget about the hormone part.

It’s time to reunite, ’cause we understood.

SO … we invite you to join us Saturday May 24th, 2008. We’ll recount our 25 years old fun, celebrate each other’s journey, and toast for another 25 years of health and happiness.

An exciting program is in the work. Bảo đảm, bảo đảm! More thrilling announcements coming up. Check our updates often.

NOTE: many of us are exchanging reunion comments at the UCBV mailing list. Send an email to this address to subscribe to the list.
